Competition project for slum housing replacement in Manila, Philippines.

This project was for a competition organised by the United Nations Habitat Conference in 1975, that took place in Vancouver, Canada. I did the competition with four 4th year architectural students at the University of Sheffield School of Architecture. I designed the basic layout and housing during the summer holidays, and we met in the studios at the University to finalise the design, and prepare the competition drawings. The students were Richard Rees, Chris Grasby, Peter Bernamont and Stuart Pearson. We did not win a prize, but I have included this project because I think that it deserves to be seen in the context of my subsequent work on ecological housing.
