4: The final 'blockhouse', on Wednesday afternoon. Tomorrow is yet another public holiday, and Francis and his team will disappear for about a week to give the concrete slab time to set properly, before carrying on with the monomur exterior wallpanels on which the oak frame will rest. When the earth that has been excavated is pushed back around the retaining walls to form the terrace, it will blend into the slope of the site. Photo taken from the top of mound of earth as high as the roof ridge.
