Comment: On the first Monday in July Mr Desvergnes' plumber, Michel (who is also the electrician), came to put down the underfloor heating. First he laid the slabs of insulation and a foam edging strip of foam to allow for expansion.

The same morning the 'Godin' combined wood fire and central heating boiler was delivered and installed very rapidly.

The insulated tubes were clipped together in the partly finished duct I'd made.

The rigid foam insulation under the heating tubes is marked with a grid to guide the placement of tubes.

I kept out of the way by working on the roof, putting linseed on the woodwork of the roof light boarding.
