Comment: The men from TCM finishing the installation of the 'Godin'.
On the first Monday in July Mr Desvergnes' plumber, Michel (who is also the electrician), came to put down the underfloor heating. First he laid the slabs of insulation and a foam edging strip of foam to allow for expansion.

The same morning the 'Godin' combined wood fire and central heating boiler was delivered and installed very rapidly.

The insulated tubes were clipped together in the partly finished duct I'd made.

The rigid foam insulation under the heating tubes is marked with a grid to guide the placement of tubes.

I kept out of the way by working on the roof, putting linseed on the woodwork of the roof light boarding.

By 5 pm Michel and apprentice had nearly finished but were short of a few boards and went away for a few days to wait for a delivery.

The back of the Godin 'insert' wood burner. It has a 15 kw back boiler which will heat water in a 1000 litre tank, which in turn will supply the heat for the low temperature underfloor heating, and a few radiators.

The insulation boards start to make the interior look more finished.

Living area looking towards the fire which will be flush with a wall made of heat storing blocks with tiling surround.
